Millions of people use Signal every day for free and instantaneous communication anywhere in the world. Send and receive high-fidelity messages, participate in HD voice/video calls, and explore a growing set of new features that help you stay connected. Signal’s advanced privacy-preserving technology is always enabled, so you can focus on sharing the moments that matter with the people who matter to you. • Say anything – State-of-the-art end-to-end encryption (powered by the open source Signal Protocol™) keeps your conversations secure. Privacy isn’t an optional mode — it’s just the way that Signal works. Every message, every call, every time. • Go fast – Messages are delivered quickly and reliably, even on slow networks. Signal is optimized to operate in the most constrained environment possible. • Feel free – Signal is a completely independent 501c3 nonprofit. Development is supported by users like you. No advertisements. No trackers. No kidding. • Be yourself – You can use your existing phone number and address book to securely communicate with your friends. • Speak up – Whether they live across town or across the ocean, Signal’s enhanced audio and video quality will make your friends and family feel closer. • Whisper in the shadows – Switch to the dark theme if you refuse to see the light. • Sound familiar – Choose custom alerts for each contact, or disable noises completely. Simon & Garfunkel wrote a hit song about it in 1964, and you can experience the sound of silence whenever you want by choosing “None” as your notification ringtone. • Picture this – Use the built-in image editing features to sketch, crop, and flip your outgoing photos. There’s even a text tool so that you can add more words to the 1,000 that your picture is already worth. • Great app, for WiFi use or on data plan

    By crystal@vecna
This app has been great for use on WiFi when I'm traveling, but it's also now become my favorite texting app in general. Super appreciate the Signal team. Great job.
  • Needs updated

    By BCthaGr8
I think it needs to be updated. Use to be able to see when people would be texting you and also messages are on a super delay. Just received one that was sent 23 Mins ago. Other than that it’s. Good app. Someone should look into those two issues tho.
  • Administración de chats. La opción de poner como no leídos hace falta

    By osotob
La opcion de poner mensajes como no leidos es importante para manejar temas pendientes
  • Devastated. Risky update.

    By callaloo 22
I just updated the app and Signal deleted years of messages. An entire relationship documented in Signal disappeared.
  • Stop w the “So and So is on Signal”

    By VeivaLeViciouss
Those aren’t real notifications and frankly it makes me not want to use the app at all. It’s hard to find my previous convos bc I have to scroll so far back through those fake notifications. It’s sensationalism, it’s annoying, it needs to go. And FYI— millennials hate being over inundated w notifications. It causes us anxiety. Get it tf together.
  • Frozen all the time

    By Hannibal626
App doesn’t work after initial set-up, will go for weeks at a time freezing on the opening screen. Worked one more time for a day, and it’s back to freezing up again. Worthless if I can’t see the messages sent to me no matter how secure this is
  • Need some improvements!

Need some improvements in group chats!
  • Best for privacy

    By TheOfficeScranton
There’s no reason to be using WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, GroupMe, or any other unsafe messaging app. Signal is where it’s at.
  • Can’t open the app anymore (as of 10/25)

    By Chicaiza
(Update: Still crashes as of 11/9. I’ll get alerts that I may have received messages while the device was off, but I can’t see them.) The most recent update makes it such that I can’t open the app. It crashes, sometimes showing a “Updating database...” message.
  • Bad UX

    By mmhgagaijnb
Signal wants to access your contacts. If you choose not to, there is no way to remove the reminder from the home screen.
